The Latent Department is a collaborative platform initiated by artist Adam Knight and designer Joao Carrilho.
The LD was formed over a mutual interest in the possibilities of sound, digital-objects and archival practices. We are interested in working with people and institutions to help identify untapped, dormant or unused resources, equipment and discourses for awakening slumbering knowledges.
We take the form of the workshops and the project to collaboratively propose questions. Crucial to these propositions is the role of production, we believe in the importance of making to mobilise the LD.
